another distance run today. ran until i hit a trail then hit a park around 2 miles out. Dallin did his tempo there while i just got some mileage done. the park was pretty big with a lot of trails. i wish we had some of those in utah. it feels easier to breathe here but my legs were pretty tired. ran back with dallin at a bit of an easier pace cause he was cooling down. the weather was literally perfect for running today. 7:31 ap. did abs and hips. 

also went to knotts berry today which is a 12/10.

headed to the park again. stretched then did 4 miles around followed by a grass mile. headed back. 7:36 ap. did abs and hips. saw some mushrooms on my run and it reminded me of mario. shoutout to brett, cause he ran with me today. 

excited to go to the beach, and possibly take a nap bc i am exhausted.

got up at like 5:45 then ran from my sisters to the start of the 5k. warmed up with sami and got to about 2 miles. the start was a lil rough with so many people, but the timer didn't start til your chip crossed the line, so at least that part was good. had a good first mile, i felt really strong. 2nd mile was also good. 3rd mile it was harder for me to push it, especially with a hill at the last part, but i kicked it in at the end and had a good finish. 20:25 was the final time with a 6:35 ap. i was happy cause that's pretty close to my pr and my goal was to go faster than my last tempo run which was a 6:45 ap. hung out with some of the guys after and also talked to tyler for a little bit which was sick. did half mile cool down waiting for awards then found out i got 3rd in my age division. finished up to high mileage. shoutout to sami, cause i love her and she killed it today.

first day of recovery in like a week. it felt sooo nice to go slower. mario watson guppy and i headed off towards alpine then came back with mario for 6. then we kinda looped around and did a grass mile at skyridge then headed back. 8:10 ap. hit up kneaders after then took an ice bath. finished with hips and abs.

went to highland glen park and met up with watson and guppy. headed on the MCT then did a warm up mile then started in on our easy pace run. i wasn't super optimistic about holding pace and such, but it ended up being a fantastic run. i felt super good and we had 7:31 ap. saw some af girls on our way back but we passed them #sod. also saw some goats. abs and hips.

went to the provo river trail with rachel, sami, guppy, and watson and ran recovery low mileage. at first my calves felt pretty heavy, but they eventually warmed up and i felt great. 8:16 ap. came back and did abs and hips and then guppy made us some gourmet french toast (:

went to the creek and did mile warm up. headed on the rail trail and went on a slight uphill to rach's house. grabbed some agua then came back. i felt really good today. 7:22 ap. did abs and hips. shoutout to rach for killing it on the run today and also to my bro dalpal cause its his birthday!

for how good ive been feeling lately, today did not feel so good. met up with watson and did an easy warm up mile then went on long distance run pace... not really sure what that is so i stuck between easy run pace and recovery. 8:02 ap w/ the wu. felt like i was kinda dragging myself most of the time. did abs and hips. getting excited for byu xc camp on monday.

first day of byu xc camp. started running in the toasty afternoon and wu 1.5. ran a 2.25 mile tempoish run. paced with watson and had a 6:38 ap. the heat really got to me, but it was alright. did a 2.1 mile cool down. finished 1.25 later on the byu track which was sick. so far a quality day of camp. more greatness to come this week.

started off the day with a fartlek workout. never done one before but i enjoyed the type of workout cause it pushed me. did mile wu then 5-3-2-1 min with equal recovery so really not too bad. got 3 miles from it. i really tried to push it that last minute because I've been struggling on my finishes. felt good overall, shoutout to watson for killing it and pushing me. cooled down another mile after. later in the afternoon did 2 miles on the provo river trail, our group tried to take it out hard but i wanted more recovery so watson and i stuck towards the back.

in the morning we ran the y trail, which i thought meant the y hike lol i was prepping myself for the worst. ended up being a cool trail on the side of the mountain. just did 20 min and got 2.5 miles. went to breakfast and found out they didn't have any more strawberries smh. ive literally had about 30 everyday between breakfast lunch and dinner. drove up to stewart falls. ran on a trail less traveled and it was fun but my legs were pretty tired. on the way back got stuck behind some slower groups so that was a struggle, but ended up not even tripping so that's a win. poor watson fell twice instead. it ended up being 4.5 miles which was perfect for mileage.

mile wu then had a race. was supposed to be 2 miles but got cut short due to some course confusion so it was 1.65. held 6:27 pace and had a strong finish which was my goal. cooled down to 5 miles. later did 2 miles at byu with guppy and watson while waiting for collin to pack up. got back and did 2 more then jumped in a pool and rolled out.

finally at practice with the team again. the team had pick ups but this week has literally wrecked me so watson guppy and i headed on a recovery run. i literally felt like i was doing the grandma shuffle for the first part of the run, my legs have never been this tired. on the way back they started to feel more normal and we were able to go a little faster. 8:27 ap. did abs and hips.

met up with the girls by the mct and headed out. my legs felt better today but still kept it pretty slow cause we have the kicker on monday, so defintely wanted to make sure i was recovered. sami guppy and i did an out and back and for the most part negative split the run which felt good. 8:16 ap. hit up kneaders after with brynlee and rachel. huge shoutout to bryn cause it's her bday and now she can d8!

also hit 50 miles this week which is a win.

wu then ran the kicker. started out kinda fast but we hadn't hit the hills yet so it was fine. handled the first little up hills alright but had a little bit of a mental block about halfway through. made it up the bigger hill and collin just kept telling me i needed to catch watson. with probably like 50m left i reached her and then we both finished strong with a 10:07. huge shoutout to collin and camden for pacing and motivating me and also to watson as well. i felt good about having a strong finish, and a new pr. ran over to skyridge except felt like i couldn't breathe for a few minutes so that was ruff 🐶 did a little bit of grass running. also rolled down a hill, but got pretty dizzy so bad idea. said hi to jhoan and butters. headed back to finish up mileage. abs hips and ice bath.

decided to do medium mileage today and low tomorrow, because tomorrow im not gonna have a ton of time to run. ran to practice which was 2.5 then we did a 1.5 wu to the skyridge track. did a few strides then up to the line for the 6 min test. felt like it was fast but alright, came in around 5:45-5:50 for the 1600m mark then got 1655m. afterwards i wasn't too tired so i knew i had more in me, but this is defintely a workout i haven't done too often, so maybe as i get more used to it, it'll get easier to push myself. did a cool down on the grass while the guys went and cheered them on. ran back but about the last half mile my stomach started feeling really tight and it was hard to keep going. not really sure what it was but the pain subsided a few minutes after i finished. did abs hips and ice bath.

after a long flight we finally got into london and got to our hotel. hit up some tourist sites like the london eye and big ben and such. took forever to get back to our hotel though so ended up running at midnight. was just on the treadmill at about 8:20 ap. felt long but glad my legs loosened up after sitting so much today.

got on the trusty treadmill and did an easy 1.5 mile wu. started on my steady state run. it was 3.5 miles and i kept a 6:40 ap. it got harder the last mile but everytime i started thinking negatively, i sped up. went outside and did a 2 mile cool down with my sister and saw the nice charming suburbs of london.

wu 2 miles then 8x600s with 60 sec rest. didn't have any hills (just a treadmill) so just decided on 6:00 min/mile pace, with the last one being a 5:55 pace. it was a hard workout, but i enjoyed it more than tempos. and my feet didn't hurt so thats a win. cooled down and abs and hips. not gonna be able to run saturday so i might be fitting in lots of mileage tomorrow.
