today's been a bit rough. fell asleep at 7 last night cause i was so dead, but then woke up at 3 wide awake. tried to go back to sleep but didn't for a couple hours. woke up at 7 am then gave up and kinda just sat around for awhile. didn't realize i got a text last night that's said practice was at 7:30 today. finally at 11 i realized my mistake and headed out on my run before it was too hot but didn't really succeed, it was blazing. luckily it was just low mileage. 7:36 ap.

pretty much i roasted alive today. first half the run felt pretty good, second half i started really feeling the heat and regretted having lunch. 7:52 ap. all in all it was ok though cause im with the team again. took an ice bath which was refreshing. shoutout to connor and asa and josh who are all gonna kill it on their missions, im really gonna miss them, roasting and all.

first day of xc camp was quite a party. our run started at memory grove in slc and kinda went up the canyon. first half was all uphill, didn't feel the greatest but we paced ourselves well. the way back parker decided to join us for a bit so shoutout to him. was feeling really good the way back and picked it up the last few miles cause i love going downhill, last mile split was a 6:15. ap overall was a 7:55. unshoutout to watson who got lost lol, good thing was we found her. ended the day with some water fights.

ran at deer creek for camp day 2. rolling hills were pretty fun and the run flew by. last 3 miles were easy pace which was well fun lol. ap for the whole run was 8:05. did some abs and hips then went down to the lake. joined the triple dunk club... three times. unshoutout to well everyone that participated. went to the solw after for an ice bath.

last day of camp. headed up to park city and ran on the real deal rail trail. ran 5 out and headed back. the last 4.5 of our run was a progression run. it was pretty rough considering it was all uphill the way back and there was a strong headwind. still negative split every mile and finished strong but that was one of the hardest workouts mentally ive had in a long time. shoutout to hannah and brynlee cause they both killed it today! did abs and hips and raced mario and watson by rolling down a hill then running to a bench, which im proud to say i won. really solid day, camp was a blast.

got up pretty early, but it felt good not to be in the heat. recovery was much needed today. just did a loop by watsons house which was quality. got to see marios grandpas giant pumpkin so that was sick. did abs and hips.

couldn't go to practice today cause i have my physical, so got up and ran with watson. mile wu then did 4 miles at easy run pace on the mtc by glen park. ended up 7:34 ap which felt nice. had 5 hill accelerations, did one in the middle of our run and the other 4 after. abs and hips.

afternoon practice today and felt absolutely fantastic. don't know if it was cause i was more cautious about what i ate, or the half gallon of water i drank this morning. mile wu then gups, mario, kaylee, hannah and i headed to country road. said hi to the horses and soon it was just guppy and i. 7:20 ap. did abs and hips and a solid ice bath.

did abs and hips before then ran to practice and then did 2 grass miles around the school. got assigned teams for our race tomorrow. austin and i are captains for the white team #gringos. did a team mile on the grass and then strides. did premeet 800 @goal 5k pace for tomorrow. was thinking around 6:30 pace but hit a 2:58 for it. whoops. didn't feel too bad though. did a lap around the track then ran home cause work. gonna elevate tonight and go to bed early.

mile wu then stretching and strides. felt oddly nervous for such a nbd race. got out with watson and stuck with her. on the first mile and hit a lil slower than goal but actually kinda was good because i was able to push myself well during mile 2 with some good surges. still felt alright going into the last mile until we hit some soggy grass for awhile. kept positive and just thought about my kick i needed to have on the track. watson pushed me at the end, i was hurting, but finished with a pr 19:52 so i was pretty happy. shoutout to watson cause she's the greatest to push me and pretty much a fabulous running buddy. cooled down to finish up mileage then did abs and hips and bought chocolate milk. also had a less wet than usual ice bath so that was a win. hit up lagoon but now my legs feel semi dead so we will see how tomorrow goes.

cross train day teamwide. not very happy to not run but whatevs. decided to swim. did 45 min of freestyle/aquajogging. didn't enjoy it too much at first but actually the time flew. did abs and hips after and ice bath. also went on a date with tyler, so shoutout to him for being a stellar date, and patiently waiting for me to finish my ice cream lol.

got up at 6 and watson and i met up by the mct. thought today was high mileage but found out later it was actually medium, oh well it was a nice run. the temperature was perfect and with a quality time with my pal watson. kept it pretty chill since we haven't ran since the race, 8:06 ap. saw some kittens, bunnies, and roosters on our run so quite eventful. also a huge thanks to lexi for taking me home after i locked my keys in my car, smh @myself.

mile wu then 10x60 sec pickups with 90 sec rest (active). goal pace was 6:20 and we had to do half of them on the grass. little bit of a struggle pacing cause my watch didn't want to adjust so quickly but hit under pace and by the last 3 i just tried to stick with guppy. felt  relatively good, and i think im figuring out good stuff with hydrating and nutrition that's been helping. cooled down half mile then did abs hips and ice bath.

did grass mile wu then strides. premeet was on the grass and skyrim so i did it barefoot. hit 3:04 which was good, felt strong during it. went really easy pace out on a loop that ended up being 3 miles exactly so that was fortunate. did abs and hips and got our uniforms which are sick. finished with an ice bath that was nICE.

got up to sugarhouse and had to wait around awhile cause my race was last. eventually wu a mile and did drills. got to the start and did a couple strides. once the gun went off i just tried to stick with watson through the herd of people. once we got up the first hill it finally spread out a bit. first mile was good, i felt strong and was really positive. can't say the same about the other twoish miles. i tried surging like my coach said but the motivation wasn't quite there, i think i tired myself out too much that first mile, or maybe im just still not used to longer races. last mile i didn't kick it in as soon as i should've, but when i saw the finish i definitely picked it up for a solid finish. i was surprised with my time, i thought the clock was rolling into 20 min, so it was a bit of a boost when i found out i broke 19. not quite a 5k course, but i was happy with placement and time. shoutout to the team for killing their races and also cheering us on. finished up mileage while waiting for awards. also rolled down the big hill a few times which was very pleasant. got back and ice bathed which was pretty sketch in the dark.

abs and hips before practice. mile wu on the road then jamie wanted us to do some barefoot grass running as part of our mileage so we did 2 miles with mario, then guppy watson and i headed out towards fox hollow elementary and on the way back hit up the splash pad cause it was really hot today. i felt slightly dead and very sore for most of it, thank goodness for recovery, 8:38 ap.

met up at watsons house and started on our run just going on some roads towards highland. my legs still were feeling so sore, so didn't really try to push a faster pace. stopped and stretched after 2 miles and my calves felt so sore. we kinda made a loop back and went on a part of the highland trails and such. it felt really good outside cause the sun hadn't come up yet. my legs finally warmed up at about 5 miles in so it felt better after that. 8:16 ap. came home did abs and hips and then took a nap.

wu was running down the kicker. did drills then started off. felt like we took it a little easier than normal at first but i was fine with that and once we got to the big hill i wasn't too tired, but i didn't push myself to go with watson when she surged. with half a mile left i picked it up decently, but not enough to finish where i wanted. 10:16 so wasn't too bad. honestly my legs just killed after tho. 6 mile cool down didn't feel too long but my legs didn't wanna go that far. shoutout to smiths for the free water bottles. abs and hips and ice bath.

got there early, did 2 miles on the road then got back and did a barefoot mile cause there was some good grass. sat around then did mile wu with the girls. got to the line, did a stride. jamie told us 6:45 first mile, 6:35 ap next half mile then faster for the rest. hit 6:38 first mile, 6:30 second mile and finished. kinda bummed i didn't catch this westlake girl at the end and didn't push to stick with watson when she surged, but stayed ahead of pace and im really ready to wreck it at grass relays. did 3 mile cool down on this road we named farm road. pretty quality day but im just really ready for a race where everything clicks. wish me luck.

couldn't really agree where to go, finally ended up deciding towards smiths. did about 2 mile wu then stretched. kept going and just ran to freedom park and did a grass mile there then headed back which felt better than the way there. finished with a grass mile at skyridge. 8:22 ap. my calves have been super tight which is a weird recurrence since simplot, nothing crazy but that's the only thing that ever seems to get really sore. gonna have dal roll me out. did some abs and hips and ice bath for the sake of my calves. found out im the 5th runner for relays so super psyched for that.

mile wu then premeet. we had to do it by ourselves cause that's how the race will be. hit 2:57 which was way too fast. did some strides/handoff starts on the grass. went out on the three mile loop but had to stop and stretch after a mile cause my calves were killing me. finished up then went to the weight room for abs&hips. watson was a pal and did a light roll out then we went and ice bathed. shoutout to the tree. gonna elevate and try some heat on my calves so they'll feel good for tomorrow.

got there early to cheer everyone on and i was feeling so pumped pumping them on. when guppy got to the line i started my wu and did a mile. stretched then had to wait by the handoff area for about 30 min which was fine cause i got to cheer on my team. kaylee got good position with us in 5th and i surged ahead at the beginning to catch springville so id have someone to race with/pass. pretty soon a skyline girl whipped past us and i knew it was gonna be a fight for fifth place. i just let her pace for most of it. she surged a good amount of times but i stayed focused and didn't fall off. heading around the baseball field the second time watson gave me some good motivation and i surged ahead starting my kick. wasn't sure if i could hold because i haven't had great kicks lately but i didn't look back, i knew what was on the line. the gauntlet was hard and i was tired but i gave it my best and it was enough. i kept the lead and we got a trophy for being top five teams. had 6:13 ap. so proud of my team cause they did so good and they're amazing. cool down was running around cheering for the guys. ice bathed after and gonna roll out later.

ran 2 before practice and did abs and hips. wu was running down the hill on center. we had 2x3 90 seconds up the hill with .5 mile jog inbetween sets. legs felt tired from saturday. it was a hard workout but for the most part i pushed myself. felt super dehydrated and thirsty the whole time and thank goodness there was some sprinklers to run through. ran back as the cool down and my legs felt so dead. solid day tho, glad to be getting some good speed in.

for some reason felt like running hills today. that or there's nowhere else to really run lol. went down kill hill and by the creek then headed up center (kinda sick of that hill tbh) and back to the high school. did 2 miles barefoot, coaches order, then finished a mile on the road. kept it recovery at 8:45 ap. have pre-region tomorrow and still not sure how i feel about it. hydrated better today so hopefully that helps with the heat.

felt weird not running til later. did abs and hips before. got up to pre region and as we were walking out the bus the boys asked us to hoco and it was seriously so cute. shoutout to riley cause he's my date. got warmed up then headed to the line. the plan was just to tempo it since byu is our focus meet of the week. i suprisingly felt really good, and watson guppy and i just held a solid pack til last .75 when gups picked it up and then watson outkicked me in the end. overall felt very good tho and held 6:30 ap (the course was a little long) which was on the faster end of our range. cooled down 3 miles on some sketchy roads but no worries i didn't get kidnapped by the ice cream van.
