decided to take a semi cross train day. ran 3 recovery miles then got back did abs and such then 2 sets of the bike workout with a wu and cd. felt pretty good, calves are getting tight again but not as bad as last week. getting pumped for byu!

did mile wu then premeet and hit a 3:07 which was good cause i was shooting for 3:10. finished up 5 miles with the girls and got some refreshing water at smiths. did abs and hips then got an ice bath in. so ready for byu and excited to see all our 5a friends cause we aren't in the same region anymore.

can't really say much about this race without being negative but mentally i just wasn't there. gonna put it behind me and move on. girls took second which was amazing so shoutout to them for all racing fantastically. excited to visit utah state on monday.

gups and i drove up to Logan and got there ready for practice. got to know some of the team and did a 5 mile out and back then did some 400m hill accelerations sorta deal, not too crazy so that was good. about 8:15 ap for all of it. got back and did some abs and arm stuff. rolled out and took an ice bath and yeah. shoutout to tyler for coming to the canyon saturday, he's really good at that sorta thing.

got up early and met at the usu track. the team left to do their workout and i stayed for mine. it was quite chilly.  1/2 mile wu then workout was 6x1000m 200m jog 200m sprint with 3:30 rest inbetween. just got the 1000 splits but they were 3:56 3:51 3:56 3:54 3:54 3:51 so right between 6:10-6:15ap. it was a hard workout and i was by myself but i felt proud of how i pushed myself. cooled down .75 with gups and michelle then rolled out. later took an ice bath when i got back.

am- had this video running thing so got half mile with that then mario watson and i did a loop to hit 2.3, felt good to not be in the heat.

pm- recovery on the mct with mario and watson, did a couple loops on the grass around the track. did abs and hips.

3 mile wu then did some barefoot grass running before pre meet. hit 3:08 which was a win. legs felt pretty tired until we just finished up 4 over towards thanksgiving point. just had time for an ice bath today cause we helped out with the carnival which was a party.

mile wu pretty much once we got there cause we actually didn't race last today! struggled finding the starting line and got our bibs a minute before the gun went off... and none of the girls were lined up when the official started the race so that was interesting. still got a good start and there was some nice downhill in the beginning. felt mentally strong the whole time this race and actually the hills at the end didn't end up being that bad. this time i made sure to stay with watson. i was confused about how far we had left at the end so i should've kicked it in harder but definitely not disappointed with the race, and glad i was able to bounce back after last week. still more good things to come this season. afterwards watson Michael parker tom and i did 5 miles for a cool down. legs felt pretty tired from the workout and higher mileage and such but it's all gucci. shoutout to lexi watson cause she did great and also we took some quality selfies.

went up with guppy and we watched riley finish his marathon which was super sick. got a mile in before he came through. then we decided to just run around there so we followed a road for awhile until it hit a park and did a barefoot mile there. ran back. 8:11 ap. it was good stuff and i felt good today. even did abs and hips and got an icebath in. shoutout to guppy cause she's a prime shopping buddy.

wu to the gulley. we had whistle hills for day 1 of awesome week. felt really good the first two sets and the last one was hard but i kept in it and finished well. cooled down back towards skyridge but had to stop at my house and switch shoes cause my calves were really bugging me. felt a lil better after that but mostly i was just glad when we got back and finished running. did abs and hips and gups rolled me out. took an ice bath which should help. shoutout to zack.

today was the kicker. warmed up running down it. felt good first mile and then after the hill my calves started to hurt bad and then mentally i wasn't in it so came in at 10:30. finished a cool down and kept it very easy. not really happy with today. did abs and hips and kaylee rolled me out hard (i may or may not have cried a lil) but im so sick of my calves hurting. ice bath after which was mucho cold.

first of all got new shoes so holla for that. did wu then mile repeats today! (wasn't quite as excited as i made that sound) but it ended up being solid. hit 6:13 6:13 6:07 6:09. last one i got tripped on the last curve, but it was all good, finished hard. felt mentally strong the whole time, especially the 3rd one. cooled down a half mile then did stuff and salt boy rolled me out. took an ice bath. seriously tho im already in love with my new shoes.

made a new loop today with the rail trail. kinda long run tho cause it was super hot and my legs felt even more dead than yesterday. but hey watson and i are planning some big stuff so that was good. did abs&hips (reluctantly) and tried to take an ice bath but the solw was turned off so ya know instead i slipped and fell in the creek. same thing.

did 3 miles recovery before speed changes. just had a mile of speed changes which felt really nice and we did it barefoot. afterwards cooled down a mile barefoot as well. felt really good today. did abs and hips. it was quite a nice day.

mike wu then got to the starting line. did a ton of strides cause they kept just delaying our race. finally the gun went off and it was a rough start. so many people and there was a pole sticking up that i barely dodged but mario hit. first mile was good, i knew it was gonna be fast but i felt strong. second mile i was still mentally in it but third mile was hard and i kept losing focus. last 200 tho i picked it up really good and ended up passing 3 girls. overall not super proud of my race but still a pr and as a team our spread is getting better. did a 2 mile cd and then took a nap. partied hard the rest of the day.

2 mile wu then 6 min test. goal was 1700 m. had some good surges and hit 1600 m at 5:33 (almost my pr lol) and just finished with what i had left. got 1750ish m and it felt really good. cooled down 2 miles with brynlee (who killed it today) and mario. then did 2  by myself.

mile wu then 200-400-800-1600-800-400-200. 2&4s at mile pace and the rest at 5k pace. hit 40, 83, 3:00, 6:06, 3:00, 78, 30. basically all were well faster than pace and i worked on making good moves and finishing strong. afterwards my breathing felt way off and finishing mileage felt almost as bad as finishing the workout. hard day mentally. did abs&hips after and took the coldest ice bath of my life.

2.5 mile wu then premeet. hit 3:01, a lil fast and my legs hurt so bad to go fast. starts and finished to a mile then 5.5 cd with watson on the trail. did abs and hips but wasn't feeling mentally prepped for an ice bath so didn't and instead tortured myself with hw.

mile wu then race. plan was 6:30 first mile then basically maintain and pack run. legs felt super tired from this week but did exactly what i needed to in this race and felt good about it. a lil sad mario outkicked me in the end cause top 10 got medals but oh well. finished up to high mileage. shoutout to the girls cause we took second which was a win.
