did a mile wu and started to get pretty nervous for the race but i felt ready. the gun went off and i slid into the back of the pack cause i had heard the open race started with a 5:30 first mile and i didn't want to get caught close to that. hit 6:00 first mile which was perfect. 2nd mile i just kept trying to convince myself to stay with the girls and that if i didnt i would regret it. my whole goal for this whole race was a strong third mile. starting into mile 3 i decided to play the catching game and move up. i kinda just started going faster cause i like to build up a longer kick. all was well until the last 400, i couldn't really push myself to go much faster, but the real disappointment was my time, a little slower than last year. after post race tiredness i looked at my watch to see where my splits went wrong, but to my surprise my ap was 6:12, my goal pace about for this race. then i checked the distance and it was 3.25. sometimes my watch can be off but i found nearly everyone had the same problem and were unsatisfied with the time vs effort. so i know considering the course that technically 20:09 is my true 5k time, i'm happy to say off my pace i hit a 19:20 5k which was my goal and i know i gave that race everything i had. afterwards i cooled down 1.5 with watson and then we had the bus ride home which literally my legs did not appreciate.

Despite Brynlee's comment you're on the lone faithful list which is garbage(I feel basic just for typing that:/) way to leave it all out there.
