first day of byu xc camp. started running in the toasty afternoon and wu 1.5. ran a 2.25 mile tempoish run. paced with watson and had a 6:38 ap. the heat really got to me, but it was alright. did a 2.1 mile cool down. finished 1.25 later on the byu track which was sick. so far a quality day of camp. more greatness to come this week.

started off the day with a fartlek workout. never done one before but i enjoyed the type of workout cause it pushed me. did mile wu then 5-3-2-1 min with equal recovery so really not too bad. got 3 miles from it. i really tried to push it that last minute because I've been struggling on my finishes. felt good overall, shoutout to watson for killing it and pushing me. cooled down another mile after. later in the afternoon did 2 miles on the provo river trail, our group tried to take it out hard but i wanted more recovery so watson and i stuck towards the back.

in the morning we ran the y trail, which i thought meant the y hike lol i was prepping myself for the worst. ended up being a cool trail on the side of the mountain. just did 20 min and got 2.5 miles. went to breakfast and found out they didn't have any more strawberries smh. ive literally had about 30 everyday between breakfast lunch and dinner. drove up to stewart falls. ran on a trail less traveled and it was fun but my legs were pretty tired. on the way back got stuck behind some slower groups so that was a struggle, but ended up not even tripping so that's a win. poor watson fell twice instead. it ended up being 4.5 miles which was perfect for mileage.

mile wu then had a race. was supposed to be 2 miles but got cut short due to some course confusion so it was 1.65. held 6:27 pace and had a strong finish which was my goal. cooled down to 5 miles. later did 2 miles at byu with guppy and watson while waiting for collin to pack up. got back and did 2 more then jumped in a pool and rolled out.

finally at practice with the team again. the team had pick ups but this week has literally wrecked me so watson guppy and i headed on a recovery run. i literally felt like i was doing the grandma shuffle for the first part of the run, my legs have never been this tired. on the way back they started to feel more normal and we were able to go a little faster. 8:27 ap. did abs and hips.

met up with the girls by the mct and headed out. my legs felt better today but still kept it pretty slow cause we have the kicker on monday, so defintely wanted to make sure i was recovered. sami guppy and i did an out and back and for the most part negative split the run which felt good. 8:16 ap. hit up kneaders after with brynlee and rachel. huge shoutout to bryn cause it's her bday and now she can d8!

also hit 50 miles this week which is a win.
