| | did mile warm up then wo was 5x800 at 2mile pace. calves felt tight on the wu but they're usually fine so i didn't think much of it but 3rd set in was rough. stood out 4th and did the last one but the last 200 it was like my calves hit a wall. i biked for a cool down. shoutout to collin cause he worked on my calves pretty good, they're stubborn little guys.... hopefully theyll be fine before the weekend, just frustrated cause i've never not finised a speed workout.

| | did 3 mile wu and wanted to stop and stretch like a billion times but i hate doing that to the girls so i just grinded through. i think my calves are just not recovering right so jamie told me bike the rest. did speed on bikes which was 2x60-90-30 sec pickups with minimal rest and then longer rest between sets (don't really care to put all the numbers). it was killer and i really pushed myself. finished biking to 45 min, then some lower body lifting minus calf raises cause that would be a problem lol. did abs and stuff and yeah, just gonna cross train tomorrow.

| | today i tell a sad tell of gannicus:
her calves hurt dearly so she knew she shouldn't run. she wanted to go aqua jogging, it seemed it could be fun. she called her local gym, they said there would be room to swim. she got up early to get a lane, but the drive over was extremely insane. her car spun out with a 180, luckily the cars she evaded. finally she arrived but all was not right, there was not a parking space in sight. she tried here and over there, but there was too much snow for her tiny car to bear. with a spot of luck, she found a space, then went inside to find there was a swimming race. somehow prepared she had workout attire, however she didn't want to bike, she was tired (of it). reluctantly she got on with her inadequate shoes, the first 10 min she didn't want to move. however the time seemed to pass fast, it was finally 60 min at last. she was good girl and did her abs, then drove home although she wished she had a cab. from this story we learn that running is life, it literally causes so much less strife.

| | abs&hips in the morning. did 10 min bike warm-up then bike speed wo was 3x3:30 4x2:15 2x1:00 all with 90 sec rest. in the middle did 2x400s on the track with my group @"2mile" pace lol hit 80,82. went back finished the wo on bike, cooled down for 55min total then went for a mile more. my calves started hurting a lot so i think tomorrow i'm just gonna cross train. not really sure if i'm gonna race next friday or not after today cause i wanna make sure i'm racing at simplot but i guess we will see how things go.

| | today was simply amazing. did mile wu then 2x400-200 with 45 sec rest between reps and 3min rest between sets. hit 82, 37, 78, 37. really nice cause i was scared i wouldn't be able to keep up with the girls but ya know it was really a confidence booster and helped me realize i am putting in the work but in a different way and i'm ready to come back so so strong. hopped on the bikes to finish the wo which was 4x90sec @mile effort 45 sec rest then 45 sec back on with 3min rest between sets. i was able to really push myself and i really think i'm pushing down a barrier that's been here the last few weeks dragging me down. cooled down for 30min and did abs&hips and an ice bath.

simplot prelims (1 Miles) 00:05:27, Place overall: 31 | | woah what a day. got to simplot at like 2pm lol and chilled and did hw and card games until i started watching races and wow so much crazy stuff, it got me pumped. HUGE shoutout to parker and mike for qualifying for finals. went on a wu with guppy kaylee and bryn and we talked about cemeteries and dead people which wow, what a way to prep for a race. was feeling very nervous in the bullpen, did some strides and tried to calm myself even tho two legends were in my heat, brie oakley and guppy struthers. planned to actually just stick at the back of the pack and see how that felt. gun went off and lol thought i had bad position cause i wasn't in the very back but i just thought, oh well, we can see how this goes. just stuck beside some girls for the first 600, then decided to pull up, because believe or not, i use this tactic in bike workouts to make sure i don't kill myself too fast but slowly build up. came in 800 @ 2:42 and thought hey let's keep this going. my team was cheering pretty loudly so i started moving up about 500 to go. last 400 built a pretty strong kick and barely outkicked a girl at the end cause i wasnt gonna lose a finals spot to one person smh. so didn't even know my time or anything but man did i love racing again, even tho i proceeded to collapse and felt like throwing up cause i haven't done speed like that in awhile. but then i found out i got a pr! and finals! and my good pal guppy is going too (: got on a cd and was fine til the last little bit and my calves ached very much but hopefully they know they need to get better cause they gotta race again. man if you're still reading this shoutout to you cause i'm writing this at 2am so idk if it even sounds sane.

simplot finals (1 Miles) 00:05:39 | | wu then did strides, legs felt pretty tired. i felt the first lap was too slow but didn't do much to change my pace. felt like i raced basically the same as thursday but my legs were a lot more tired and i didn't have the same kick. still had fun tho, and even tho i'm not super happy about the time, i gave a good effort and im still getting back into training so i can't be too disappointed. as you can see my cd was a lot longer than it should've been but i really needed to just run some more and i was with mario who had 2.5 left so i ran it all. my legs kinda hurt after but assuming they're ok, i might try 4 (consecutive) on monday (:

| | first full speed workout on the track!! did mile wu then 2x200-400-200 with 60sec between reps and 5min between sets plus some lunges. hit 36, 80, 33, 36, 76, 35. felt pretty solid except pain on the cd. however considering speed felt good i'm not too worried cause that was the ultimate problem in the first place. biked for 40min which actually went way fast today and felt really good. solid day, 11/10 would reccomend

| | massage therapist guy said i have a pretty tight soleous on my right calf and left calf has a lot of microtears which really isn't anything more than information but kinda nice to more know about it. run today was manageable and towards the end felt really good. biked 60min with 40min at a decent resistance and kept my heart rate between 130-145ish. did abs&hips and upper body arm wo. s/o to thom and riley for getting their mission calls today!!

skyridge time trial (0.5 Miles) 00:02:31, Place overall: 1 | | mile wu then watched people kill it in the 1600. got to the line for the 800 and there was like 6 girls but only watson and i to race together. just stuck with each other til like the last 200 then i surged a lil bit ahead and prayed i wouldnt get passed lol. ended up close to my pr so that was a win. raced the 4x400 like 20min after that and kobe killed it and got us the lead and i held it for my leg but we ended finishing second, got somewhere around a 66 tho which was a win. then did a 4x100 which was kinda a joke haha but nonetheless fun. cd for mileage then did 20min on the bike and abs&hips.

pm-mile wu then got to start line, weird positioning. gun went off and somehow ended in the back which is a no no at a dual meet. made my way on the curve up to behind some cc girls but they were going too slow so had to pass them too. luckily kaylee and bryn got through the struggle with me and then we just raced. kaylee pulled up with like 200 to go and i didn't follow her quite like i should've. still ends ok tho and not too disappointed especially considering the rough start.. got a few recovery laps in then did the 4x400. i was the anchor and our team got first!! split a 66 which i felt pretty good about. cooled down and yeah solid day.

| | what an adventure today lol. biked 45min through the rain with mario until my bike got a flat then watson came and picked me up. went to the clubhouse and did 30 more min to make up for yesterday's lack of miles. threw in a 10min hill climb in the middle but mostly recovery. thought of something semi profound today. im biking cause i love running. sometimes we do things we don't want for the things we love. take it as you will, it's kinda giving me more positive vibes and just so hoping i'm racing next week, without problems even if it means more time on the bikes and less miles.

| | did 2mile wu then workout was 9 reps, goal 800 pace for 300m (54s) then added 2sec cause of wind (56s) and you went as many 300s staying on pace with 2sec buffer (56-58) jamies plan for me was just 5 reps to be careful to avoid last weeks problem. hit 56 57 58, a little tightness on the third one so dropped to 200s for the last two reps, 38 37. 5 reps got me pretty bad but went in and finished on the bikes and did 5x60sec on very hard and 60sec rest. was only supposed to do 4 but did an extra cause i was kinda mad at myself for not doing a 300 the 4th rep cause i know i'm being careful but i don't think one more would've killed me (although who knows, last week i did just that) so yeah a little mentally messed up but still gave much effort on the bikes and cooled down for a total of 40min biking.

uvu invite (0.5 Miles) 00:02:27 | | bummer cause meet took so long so missed both sessions of general conference :/ but on the other hand got to watch some sick races. warmed up a mile but meet took so long warmed up .25 like an hour later. did like 5 strides then finally got to line and was pretty worried i'd have to lead mostly cause i was fastest seed in the heat but another girl took it out hard so i stuck behind her. at 200 in jamie said that pacing was good so i didn't need to pass her, kept with her til 200 left she gained a little but i sped up at the end and got close to catching but got a pr! thankful for that girl. huge shoutout to mario and kobe for qualifying for state in the 800 holy cow they're my heroes! cd 2miles with mario which was awesome cause i cooled down with a future state champ. got back and listened to conference while biking 30min.

| | 10min biking then a mile, drove down to lehi for the workout cause our track is off limits this week. workout was 3x400-200 @mile pace with 2min rest after the 4 and 3min rest between sets. hit 78 37 79 40 77 37. it shouldn't have been rough but being sick really made breathing hard and yeah. cd with the guys for 4. did abs&hips. started walking around tho and feeling a bit of sharp pain between my soleus and shins so i'm starting to question whether racing this weekend is a good idea.

| | did premeet today and hit 76 79. idk why but struggling pacing those, i wanted 80-81 smh. oh well finished miles and idk what's made the difference these last few weeks but i had forgotten what running without pain had felt like but now it makes me so grateful when i feel normal and it's good to know it gets better, even if it has taken 3 months and i'm still not back to full miles. so a very wonderful realization. finished 20min biking then abs&hips and ice bath.

ut county invite (1 Miles) 00:05:40 | | mile wu then race, started more conserved hit 81 then made a couple moves second lap, 84 third lap did a huge surge to catch lead girl 85, crossed the line knowing i would have to hit 80 to be where i wanted which was totally possible, i hits 80s so much but something bad happened to me mentally that lap and hit a 90 which is TERRIBLE. but all things considered all i need to fix is that last lap and we are in good shape and hit my goal of a strong third lap cause i didn't drop off that lap like normal. so yeah really crummy time but still looking on the up side and i'll thrash the 800 tomorrow (well 4x800 i suppose). cooled down 3miles (yay for still being at 5 and not hurt). came home biked 40min with 30min endurance ride then abs and did some harder ab things today cause i know that fourth lap is gonna come if i put in the extra work but not if i just do the minimum. so good things WILL come and im ready!!! and yeah hips. shoutout to everyone who is reading this overly long blog post about me giving myself motivation. you guys are true pals

ut county invite (4x800) (2 Miles) 00:09:59, Place overall: 2 | | morning biked 40min plus abs and hips. later ran 3miles. then did mile wu with watson for 4x800. i was the third leg. got baton when we were in 3rd and us top 3 girls kinda held a pack first lap then mountain view girl surged ahead went with her as much as i could but last 100 was very hard but mentally i gave it a lot and i gave mario the baton in second. split a 2:28 which i was pretty happy about. we finished 2nd with 9:59 which was awesome cause our team goal was under 10:00. shoutout to our team for killin it. cd .5 to finish for the day.

| | welp. on the wu my soles was kinda bothersome but i knew it could push through a workout. workout was 3 sets of 4x400 at current mile pace then about two seconds faster each rep. i hit 81 80 82 81 82 and the fifth one i wasn't focusing on pacing anymore than judging whether i should be doing the workout or not, so talked to jamie on rest and made the decision not to push it. i wanted to keep going but i know it wouldn't help. went and did two sets on the bike of 1min on and 2min off 4 times with 4min rest in between. push myself very hard and had to lay on the grass after so i didn't throw up on the bike. finished to 45min of biking. i feel like there is so much i wanna give in speed but then it keeps coming down to being careful which i hate. i just wanna do full speed and not feel like i'm gonna hurt myself in the process.

bulldog invite (1 Miles) 00:05:39 | | welllllll at least im in the 5:30s lol. race seemed fine but i know middle laps could've had more grind. last lap i mentally was kicking it in and my legs would not move for the life of me. but i did have a fight which was good. i had to lay on the grass for awhile cause my legs hurt and my stomach and my head. after awhile got up but didn't feel too good. iced my leg while taking a little nap and woke up feeling better. i figured out my problem was is that the last time i had eaten was 11:30ish and i raced at 5. so basically i feeling really dumb for throwing away my race by a small mistake. cooled down with dalpal 3miles. later watson had some miles and the temptation was too strong and i went over but hey it's been so long since i've been this far and i probably won't be able to do it for awhile. so some things learned today, we will give it another go next week.

| | biked 10min and did abs and hips before practice. did mile wu then jamie said i could do 6 of the 12 reps. hit 5x300s and barely didn't make the time so did a 200 for my last one. felt good and stay mentally positive. went to the bikes for the other 6 and it was medium hard resistance and you sped up for 60sec then 90sec rest. the rest was hard cause you didn't want to move and the resistance was so high. pushed my self good and visualed the track and i feel good about the work i did. finished for a total of 50min biking then did a mile cd running and my legs felt very tired which meant some good things happened today.

| | mile wu then ran to a mile left of the teams tempo run course so i could help pace the last mile with the girls. they came up and i kinda took the lead for a half mile then let bryn go with the guys so i could stay back more to help mario. actually ended up being about 1.2 miles at 6:40ap and it felt good to pick things up and help out the girls. they killed it. cd to finish miles. and then abs. huge shoutout to eva for breaking 18:00 in the 5k!! if you haven't checked out her blog you should cause she is amazing

| | happy 4th of july!! today i had an awesome run to celebrate(: today was just easy going pace sorta day so i decided to finally try the jail trail, well somewhat at least. i went up behind im flash and went on the trail that connected there and rode it up til i hit jail trail then cruised down. well that only took me 3.5miles so i decided to do the loop with lots of shade and sprinklers but ran into kiah who was running and did 2miles with her! had good convo then ran the last .5 to my house at 6:40ap finishing strong and feeling so hyped! 8:25ap for the run and then abs

| | another fantastic run. got with mario and we did a mile wu towards af. it was easy pace day for her, so the next 4miles were 7:26ap. at first it hurt and didn't really feel like we would be on pace but the way back was downhill and we cruised! went home and did one more mile by myself, finished last .15 hard.

| | 2mile wu then strides. today was beloved mile repeats. 4 reps with 2:30 rest. i don’t really know exactly my splits but i’m gonna guess. 5:59 6:10 6:20 6:05. these might be optimistic idk. my middle ones were definitely the struggle but the last one i really got my motivation back and grinded through but man the short rest between really got me. cd felt alright until my legs felt like death. did core and legs and leg lifts then an ice bath.

| | so today i felt quite a bit better than i thought i would. i expected my legs to still be thrashed from the workout then a postworkout trail run but nope. the more i ran the better i felt. but, i am still only allowed to do 6 on nonworkout days so i did the water treadmill for 30min. also monday core as per usual

| | workout dayyy. 2mile wu then strides. did 10x300m with 100m recovery and an extra 100m recovery after sets of 4. first 8 were supposed to be at 58-59 but ranged more towards the 57 side. last 2 were supposed to be 56, and i ended up going 56 58. the last one hurt mucho but i have also been really tired since the shot i got on saturday. was supposed to do full core but did legs instead cause my arm is swollen from the shot so i couldn't do much of that stuff anyways. maybe tomorrow

| | 2mile wu then strides. had a mile time trial of sorts. our pacer led us out too fast and i got scared so i hung back, which i sorta regret. with 600 left i picked things up and had too strong of a kick for my liking (aka i had too much energy left). had i think a 5:30 1600m, full mile was an added couple seconds. not the time i was looking for, but i was okay with the effort. mostly it just left me hungry for more, so i'll be looking for a few races to do unattached before i head on the mission. cd 1.5 miles. proud of my girls today.
